Web3 Project Planning: Tips and Resources to Get You Started (Part 2 of 2)

Part 1 covered the basics of opening a crypto wallet, determining your project concept, and organizing your community. We dive now into structuring the plan, involving your community, and analyzing the work.

Put together your plan

Once you have decided on how you are going to incorporate Web3 concepts into your business, you will then need to come up with a plan.

You will soon be surprised by the unlimited creativity of using NFTs. Selling or issuing NFTs is just the beginning; what your customer will do with it is an ongoing journey.

Here is a list of some of what you can lock up and unlock with NFTs:

  • Entrance to a VIP event (in-person or online)

  • Certifications or awards

  • Articles

  • Books

  • Music

  • Art

  • Video

  • Cross-promotion with other NFT gated content and experiences

  • Raffles

  • Games

  • Prize giveaways

  • Metaverse experiences

  • And much more.

Because there are so many ways to incorporate these new concepts into your business and marketing strategy, finding out what your customers want is ideal. Which leads to…

Ask your community

To determine your plan, you can design it with the help of your community and build it in public.

Not all of your community members will speak up, however. To encourage participation, provide incentives and rewards for your most active members.

Ask questions and see who contributes the most. Once you have an idea of your active core users, allow them to test your ideas. Enthusiastic members have strong opinions about what they like and how to make improvements.

In the Web3 Doers community, Chris Koronowski tracked participation during his weekly events. He took note of those who contributed to discussions and asked questions. After compiling the data, he established a list of the top 25 members and created a separate space for these core participants to engage with each other.

The result of this core membership?

Because they are active participants, they are proactive with insightful discussions and establish deeper connections because of their commonalities.

Chris can then ask this group for feedback, volunteers to lead masterminds, and encourage commenting and contributing to each other’s LinkedIn posts.

Roadmaps and rituals

Once you determined what your community would like to create, outline a roadmap with your key milestones and deliverables for your project. Develop a timeline for your goals and communicate honestly with your community about your progress.

By staying organized with a clear structure, you will have the framework to share with your community to build trust and excitement with the project.

Creating rituals is also a great way to keep the level of engagement high within your community. With consistency, members understand what to expect and how to get the most out of the activities even when they may not be interacting daily.

Test, track, record, adjust, and analyze

After you have worked with your core members to create a fantastic Web3 project, the fun part of analyzing the data and gathering feedback brings us next to the customer relationship management systems.

In Web3, you have new types of data to track: wallet addresses, contracts, and tokens. The amount of data can get out of control quickly if you don’t have the plan to manage it all.

A management system allows you to quickly onboard and verify members, give valuable insights, drive social engagement, manage cross-channel experiences, and build a reward system with information derived from analytics.

Wallet Relationship Management (WRM) is a deep and interesting subject with much information. I hope to share more in a future article as I explore this subject further. Here are some new Web3 WRM platforms in the space:

Conclusion

Starting a new project in Web3 is exciting and can be very overwhelming. So many tools, communities, and people in this space can support your efforts and provide the education needed to complete a successful project.

To recap:

  1. Start with an existing business with a strong customer/client base

  2. Get a crypto wallet and make a note of the process so you can help your customers later

  3. Determine your goal - what do you want to accomplish?

  4. Bring your customers/clients together into a community

  5. Decide what you will lock and unlock with NFTs

  6. Ask your community for ideas, feedback, and plan

  7. Create a roadmap and rituals to foster clear communication between members

  8. Test and analyze the data once the project is in place

Doing it alone can be challenging, and I urge you to reach out and ask for help! Tokens Square can work with you to brainstorm ideas, sketch a plan, and connect you to the people and resources to help you along the way.

To take the first step, determine what you want to accomplish with your existing customer base and how you will communicate with them, and open your self-custody wallet. Then the fun begins!
