Trust, Collaboration, and Self-Discovery: A Roadmap for Entrepreneurial Achievement

As an entrepreneur, specifically a solo entrepreneur, the more people you know and the connections you make will help spur your success. Over the past week, I enjoyed working or conversing with several people I admire for their courage to reach out to others for help and connection.

Overall, here are some of the themes that I encountered.

Trust Yourself

I have been working with Gatieh Nacario to help plan his first Meet & Greet event. What began as a modest gathering to showcase a few of his paintings evolved into a successful occasion with over 70 attendees, featuring not only art displays but also delicious food, engaging speeches, and many sales of his art.

What we learned from the experience is to trust ourselves.

Thoughts and anxieties besieged Gatieh throughout the preparations as he sent out invitations, managed event details, and structured the agenda. He worried whether people would attend, if the food would be good, and if his art would sell. I grappled with concerns that my explanations of Web3 concepts might be too technical and confusing for the audience.

In the end, we used our anxiety and worry about ensuring to have a plan B in place (sometimes paper and pen work just fine to collect information), to laugh at ourselves (Gatieh going "off script" during his presentation) and to know everyone who is in attendance is there to support you (they are happy they aren't the ones on stage).

Your weakness may be someone else's strength

Within the Web3 Doers community, a lesson in collaboration and seeking help emerged through the experiences of two members who recently launched new business ideas. Instead of struggling with the overwhelming workload required to create educational courses, they wisely contacted their community.

Vlad Herescu, focusing on a course to assist solo entrepreneurs in starting their businesses, sought assistance from fellow members with relevant experience, skills, or talents to create specific modules. Embracing collaboration not only makes the work more manageable but also makes the work more enjoyable to do with others.

Similarly, Denes Fantasny, developing a course on easy video creation, shared an outline of his program with the group, inviting them to contribute their expertise to various sections. Recognizing the value of diverse perspectives, Denes believed it would enhance the course's value for future students.

Your personal mission statement

At a local networking event, I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin Hackbarth, a business coach known for his passion for helping others and solving their business problems. In our conversation, I shared my struggles with focus and juggling numerous projects.

Kevin's advice centered on creating a personal mission statement succinctly expressing one's strengths and purpose. This statement guides us when faced with opportunities, helping us decide when to say "yes" and whether to decline.

The first step to crafting a personal mission statement is to dedicate a few days, a week, or even a month to consistently jot down 5-10 words that describe your strengths or interests. Avoid reviewing previous lists and ask, "What else?" while creating each new list. Once the time elapses, look for recurring themes among the words and fashion your mission statement around that cohesive theme.

So far, I'm on day 4 - I will see where it takes me.

Spotlight others

Chris Koronowski, leader of the Web3 Doers, knows how to build strong connections within a community. He offered every Web3 Doers member an hour to get to know them better and provide support and resources.

During our call, Chris gathered information about my experience, current projects, where I can help others, and what I need help with myself. This information is then compiled into a comprehensive membership profile, enabling members to access a wealth of resources and support one another when needed.

As members utilize this profile information to overcome challenges, make introductions, or establish connections, the community's sense of unity and mutual growth thrives.

Summary

Embrace self-trust, reach out for collaboration, and define your personal mission to propel yourself and others toward collective success.

Together, we can build a culture of mutual support and encouragement, enabling us to flourish and achieve our shared goals.
