Artist Uses NFT to Create Exclusive Opportunity for Limited Edition Photograph

We held another successful Founders Live startup pitch competition and more people were onboarded into Web3 by claiming an NFT at the event!

This latest landmark token, designed by a local photographer, Laura Dusek, is of the iconic Washington Water Power building. To add a unique feature to this landmark, anyone who holds the token can purchase an original print of her photograph.

She essentially “locked up” her limited edition photograph with an NFT. The person with the “key” (aka Washington Water Power landmark) will be able to gain access to the purchase page.

While Laura could have shared a webpage with her photograph and password-protected it, creating an NFT for this special opportunity has several advantages.

  1. She made her photograph exclusive for a small group of people. Only those with a WWP landmark token have the opportunity to buy.

  2. Her name is permanently associated with the artwork with blockchain technology as a type of certification of authenticity.

  3. Once her NFTs are claimed, she will have crypto wallet addresses to drop incentives, benefits, and perks for this exclusive group of people later.

  4. Laura can find other partners who can use the code from her NFT to create their tokens to unlock other perks or benefits. For example, an art studio could provide an exclusive cocktail party, and only those with Laura’s NFT could purchase a ticket to the art studio’s event.

By creating her own NFT, Laura has a new form of marketing available with crypto wallets and establishes a legacy of her work that will permanently showcase her as the photographer of this original work.

WWP landmark holders can also access other benefits and discounts local businesses provide along with the artwork.

As I had told the audience during the Founders Live event, the more landmarks you own, the greater the probability of receiving prizes at the end of the year. One lucky Pavilion and Washington Water Power holder won a hotel vacation package!
